  1. Greetings, Comrade!

I’m Curonian from The Eastern Border podcast and a fan of your show. I would like you to record a small intro for your show, which I could air in one of my future episodes to maybe help you get a bit more popular. Not that you’re not already, and not that I could, but I believe in mutual cooperation, and this seems to be a nice way of doing this. So, please visit http://theeasternborder.lv/ give us a listen, and if you’d like to do an intro and a small ad for your show, feel free to mail us to ihatebalrog at gmail.com

  5. I heard about your show thru the Eastern Borders episode you did. The Ambrose Bierce episode was the first I listened to. All I can say is that show was fantastic! Your analysis of his civil war works is the most convincing I have heard! I’m throughly hooked to this pod cast. Thank you for the good work!

  6. Just finished your two part podcast over the Pinkerton National Detective Agency. I learned a lot but I wish you would add a part three to speak in more detail of Charlie Siringo.

    • I know, coming full circle and talking about his book “Two Evil Isms” would have been a great conclusion. I worried about going too far beyond Homestead, which was the climax of the episode, and I was also worried about the episode dragging on too long. There’s so much good material relating to the Pinkertons that it’s hard to know what to keep and what to cut. I might do a blog post to help fill in the parts of Siringo’s story I left out.

  7. Sam,

I really enjoy your podcast. The one you did on buffalo bill, especially, was incredibly perceptive. I’m wondering if you have given up the podcast, or if you are working on other projects? I hope to find out where your content is now if you have moved on.

    Thanks,
    Clay

    • Hey Clay, thanks for the kind words. I intend to keep the podcast going but I’m not sure when the next upload will be. I teach high school full time so it’s tough to put an episode together during the school year, and I’ve been dealing with family / personal issues this summer. Just one of those times in life where there’s no time for personal projects. There will be more Inward Empire eventually … just not sure when.

  8. Thanks for all of the work you did on this podcast series which I have now listened to in its current entirety. Ironically it is podcasts like yours that get me through my evenings as a high school custodian(a facility which is sapping the energy you might otherwise have produce more material lol). As someone who had to take a step back from my education, pursuit of music and my political activism due to illness and death in my family I wish you all the best going forward and hope your days get easier if only bit by bit. Also may you and your education sector comrades get all the compensation and working condition improvements you deserve in the most noblest of professions!

  9. Hi!
Just stared listening to your Diem series! It’s great! At the end of the episode you said that a donation to the podcast would help “defend the free world against communism”. I was just wondering if that was a joke or if you are ardently anti-communist. Thanks!

NZ , the first country in the workd where wonen won the right to vote once led the world in terns of workers rights but 40 years of Reaganomics has turned us I to a “right to.work ” country.

Thanks so much for reminder of what helped shape your nation.

Now off to listen to the Diem series!!! Doest it have a happy ending??

    Happy Easter and take care.
